    Lesley Gore (née Lesley Sue Goldstein le 2 mai 1946 à New York aux États-Unis, et morte le 16 février 2015 (à 68 ans) à New York) est une chanteuse américaine.

    Lesley Gore est née à New York. Elle a grandi à Tenafly dans le New Jersey au sein d'une famille juive. Son père, Léo, est un riche fabricant de vêtements pour enfants et de maillots de bain. Elle a 16 ans quand elle rencontre Quincy Jones qui deviendra son producteur.

    Lesley est lycéenne à la Dwight School for Girls dans les environs de Englewood quand le single It's My Party (en) est devenu numéro 1 des ventes. Le disque, arrangé par Ellie Greenwich, est ensuite nommé pour un Grammy Award dans la catégorie Enregistrement Rock and Roll. Il s'est vendu à plus d'un million d'exemplaires, et a reçu un disque d'or. En 1980 elle écrit avec son frère Michael Gore des chansons (out here on my own) pour le film Fame. Au milieu des années 2000 elle participe pour le réseau PBS à des émissions sur l'homosexualité et le mouvement LGBT dans la série the life puis s'investit dans la défense du droit au mariage homosexuel.

    Lesley Gore meurt d'un cancer des poumons, au NYU Langone Medical Center (en) à Manhattan, New York, le 16 février 2015 (à 68 ans)

    It's My Party (C'est Ma Fête) "It's my party" est le premier succès de Lesley Gore, produit par Quincy Jones en 1963. Richard Anthony en fit une adaptation française la même année, assez fidèle au sens de la chanson originale, sortie sous le nom de "C'est ma fête" et qui connut aussi un beau succès.
